Inertia

Never in my life have I been so inert! Prior to arrival I had Big Plans about how employed and physically active I was going to be- working the land around our house, helping Vandy with the build, going for long trail runs through the surrounding forests, heading down to the sea for an early morning swim in the calm, inviting waters…

…Not so: If you’ve read my other posts you’ll know we have been unable to do any work on our property and, kind of therefore, Vandy has not been with us (apart from a whistle stop visit). Therefore I have done, well, virtually nothing! To spell it out: if one is on one’s own with ones children one cannot do anything one wishes to do, especially if one child is still relatively small (age 4, for example!). As a direct consequence:

Where once my butt resembled a ripe nectarine: smooth, taught, appealing, it now defines an over ripe peach: soft, wrinkly and not worth a second glance.
