Our Vision
We’d spent years compromising on holidays and saving every spare penny for our ‘retirement’ both Vandy and I being self- employed, yet we’d had enough of this style of un-living. Thus we made the unanimous decision to come up with a rough budget of what we could spend on a property abroad, based on X number of family holidays for the four of us over X number of years (this venture actually came out slightly cheaper!) It felt a little reckless transferring our life savings to a foreign, unknown bank account (…gulp…) but we figured if it wasn’t a big fat scam we’d end up with a dream property in a dreamy area! Turns out we were ok, phew.
Our vision is to share our love and good fortune and, when La Casa is ready to GO! make it an affordable venue, not just a faceless business facilitating our lifestyle. In return we welcome respectful guests with an appreciation of our approach and an understanding of what we are able/ unable to offer. For example if we are able to offer fresh vegetables from the garden for you to help yourselves to and pick the fruit from the trees during your stay= A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. Yet if we are unable to provide lightening speed WiFi…meh!
The Plan!
The house is laid out over 3 floors, dug into the side of a hill that drops down onto the road meaning the garden is beautifully level.
The first floor will have two double bedrooms and a shared bathroom. The ground floor will be the ‘hub’: an open plan kitchen, living and dining area with openings leading out onto the terraces, garden and the pool! The basement will have a second bathroom, store room, and otherwise be the ‘play room’: TV, sofa, games, gaming (if we must…).
First Floor- Sleep
There will be a master bedroom to the front with a vast balcony offering spectacular views to the hills and a second, large bedroom with it’s own balcony to the rear. Shared bathroom.
The Garden
There is an acre+ of grounds to indulge our imaginations with;
I just love to create seating areas for different purposes: morning coffee spot for one, al fresco dining for many, aperitif perch- the more the merrier.
As we dig the pool we’ll pile the earth to create the mtb jumps! (at the farthest point away from the house!)
Laze in the sun and snack on fresh fruits from our trees, select juicy tomatoes and crisps leaves for lunch from the veggie patch. Kids- let your imaginations run wild in the trees and bamboo hide outs.
Flat open spaces for Pilates, yoga, painting, meditation and more.Dreamy spots for, well dreaming!
And, of course, an outdoor kitchen!
Ground Floor- Socialise
This will be an utterly delightful room to ‘live’ in. Throw open the doors and jump in the pool. Fling wide the windows in summer, snuggle up with the views and a fire in the winter.
Cook, dine, chat.

Turn into the drive directly from our road which is, in effect a dead end road (yay, hardly any passing traffic!) leading off the main mountain road climbing up through the spectacular Pennaviare Valley.
