Run in the sun

During one of our long stays (10 weeks, with a term at the local school) the boys had lessons with a local, in her home. I jumped on the opportunity to maintain at least a bit of fitness so I’d wave them a bacio and off I’d tootle up the mountain, invariably under the blistering nigh-noon sun!
The locals thought I was utterly bonkers, very little is done outdoors between 10am and 4pm in the summer and I received many a confused look although the occasional shout of ‘brava!’ too.

It was always tough but a mental win-win: boys being educated, me getting in some exercise … if only to break even Calorie wise, for it is hard to resist the quaffable local wine and cheese!

I suppose my main message here is to ‘seize the day’, hoorah.
